News and Announcements

A BIG Thank You!
Dear SDCCS Community,
Yesterday was the day for giving, today is the day to say thanks! Thank you to everyone who contributed to SDCCS’ first official #Giving Tuesday. We had a big impact yesterday, with dozens of families, staff, alumni, and supporters all pitching in for SDCCS. Donations are being tallied now and we look forward to announcing our total at the December 9th board meeting.
Giving Tuesday our Goal is to raise $10,000 for SDCCS

Keep Your Cool in Hot Weather
Learn about heat-related illness and how to stay cool and safe in hot weather.
Designated Cool Zones sites provide refreshing relief
Cool Zone sites, mostly located in the hottest areas of the county, keep cool and save energy costs.

In the summer, the County designates Cool Zone sites, air-conditioned settings where seniors and others can gather. The sites encourage people to share air conditioning during the heat of the day, lowering individual usage and helping to conserve energy for the whole community.

Residents can use officially sanctioned Cool Zones to escape the heat and rest up before going back outside.
