Moving Day - Sunday, August 12, 2007
THANK YOU!!!!
Sunday was a superb example of just how a cooperative
environment can work to create the best possible experience
for our children.
As a charter, our budget is always tight and we are
constantly looking for ways to save money. After talking
with moving companies, we estimate that the work we
did Sunday, and the work that staff and volunteers put
in prior to that time, saved us over $20,000. That's
$20K that can be spent enriching the experience of every
child at SDCCS. Everyone involved should give themselves
a big pat on the back. If the move was any indication,
it's going to be an extraordinary year at our new home.
By the way, if you helped with the move, do not forget
to record your hours as they count toward your commitment
for the year. And, if you weren't able to help on Sunday,
there's still an awful lot to get done to be ready for
the year. If you're interested in that, do not hesitate
to contact your teachers or the office and see how you
can help prepare for opening day.
Again, thanks everybody. This was a great example to
all of our kids of what you can accomplish when everyone
pulls together.
