SDCCS Naturalist Adventure Camp
 Take a walk on the wild side and join us for an interactive weeklong hands-on camp for children ages 7 – 14 to explore and play in nature. Become stewards for your community while learning skills in observation, navigation, tracking, and nature appreciation. Challenge yourself, make new friends and have fun while safely embarking on an environmental adventure.

- Minimum 12/Maximum 24 children (first come, first serve basis)
- Exploration of exciting trail locations throughout San Diego (Drop-off will vary each day)
- Guided by credentialed, CPR certified teachers from San Diego Cooperative Charter School

Session 1 – San Diego Explorer
This session emphasizes curiosity and wonder through playful explorations throughout San Diego’s natural treasures. Come join us for a treasure hunt and sand crab study!
Dates: July 7 -11
Time: 8:30am – 1:30pm
Locations: Tecolote Canyon, Torrey Pines Extension and State Beach, Mission Trails)
Price: $160
Session 2 – Intermediate Adventurer
In this session, campers will explore exciting, more challenging, hikes while investigating and playing with different sciences on the trail. Come find out if you are hard “core”.(The longest hike will be about 5 miles)
Dates: July 14 – 18
Time: 8:30am – 1:30pm
Locations: Mission Trails, Shepherd Canyon (Tierrasanta), San Clemente Canyon (near 52), Los Penosquitos, Tijuana Estuary (In the US)

Session 3 – Backpacking Challenge (Session 1 or 2 is a prerequisite and child must be close to 10 years or older unless accompanied by a pack-carrying parent)
In this session, we will teach the kids how to pack for a backpacking trip on Monday and Tuesday. Wednesday through Friday, we will backpack to a location, set up camp, go on day hikes and have various activities, and then backpack out on Friday.
Dates: July 21 – 25
Time: 8:30am – 1:30 (July 21-22) Preparing for the Adventure,
Sleep Away/Camp Out (July 23-25) - times TBA ~ Drop-off will be near the Cleveland National Forest)

Price: $200 (Backpack rental included in price)
